Aim. To analyze and summarize publications concerning the use of electrical percutaneous stimulation of acupuncture points in the treatment of subjective tinnitus, to evaluate the effectiveness, safety and characteristics of therapeutic effects.
Methods. A review of publications in Russian and foreign electronic libraries for the period from 2000 to 2024, with a selection of original articles and research results published in peer-reviewed journals on the results of the use of noninvasive (percutaneous) electrical stimulation of acupuncture points in the treatment of subjective tinnitus in randomized trials with control groups.
Results. The studies included in the review indicate statistically significant improvements in quality of life and the results of acoustic testing as a result of the use of electrical noninvasive percutaneous stimulation of acupuncture points in the treatment of subjective tinnitus.
Conclusion. Noninvasive (percutaneous) electrical stimulation of acupuncture points can be an effective and safe method of treating subjective tinnitus.
