Almost all regions of our country face the problem of the spread of ecotoxicants, but it is precisely subjects with a high industrial production index that can become a representative platform for developing a methodological base for ecological and pharmacognostic assessment of the quality of medicinal plant raw materials, taking into account the peculiarities and patterns of accumulation of not only ecotoxicants in it, but also biologically active substances. The purpose of the study was to study the peculiarities of the accumulation of polysaccharides in terms of fructose in the roots of burdock of the common synanthropic flora of the Rostov region. The study of plant raw materials harvested in the roadside zone of the studied highways showed a direct dependence on the increase in polysaccharide content with an increase in distance from the highways. According to these studies, it can be concluded that the moderate effect of adverse factors has an inhibitory effect on the synthesis of polysaccharides in medicinal plant raw materials, reducing their content in raw materials by almost 2 times, in some cases, but not lower than the minimum value established by the State Pharmacopoeia. The obtained results correlate with the results of studies conducted earlier in identical conditions in the Voronezh region, which makes it possible to judge the detection of a pattern in inhibition of the synthesis of biologically active substances in various conditions of plant growth.
